The Broken Pieces: A note to November

Yours was a fiery romance
Hot, instant, with all the fairy tales
Better than March
You healed without falling apart
Till fate came calling
Your allegiance to the masters
Akin to that of the Sea Angel to Poseidon
The perfect storm....destroying a perfect plan
Hopes shattered...cracks enlarged on his heart

A relief from a tumultuous encounter
Succor and solace you offered
Short lived? Yes
But his heart was unburdened a bit
Shortchanged? Yes you were
But he never made any promises

You were fabled in prophecies
Sadly, words of subjective men hardly move him
Pretty yet strong
A deeper appearance of you he sought
Not the stoic statue devoid of artistic finishes
An unwilling mind...lest he would've painted it himself
Offering ultimatums? You only threaten when you hold the aces
Perhaps its best this encounter doesn't happen
A lack of patience, his current major crime

Prodding his many sides
Seeking more than he had to offer
Impatient, demanding, dramatic
Sadly, the juicy part you had no patience for
Ultimatums, charades and insults?
Perhaps you knew not his pride is untouchable
A death sentence for many before you
Perhaps you should've taken what he offered
Then there'll be something to hold on to

Like thunderbolt at midnight
Silently demanding attention
His scruples arrested, his desires stirred
So beautiful...so seasoned...so moist
Wetting his deeper mind
Creating a yearning he had not felt in forever
Then again,
Poseidon forever present
For this encounter belonged to another
Another perfect storm...
Perhaps to remind him of the pains of his mortality
Pains eternally present by his immortality
His patience stretched....his heart confused

Dear November,
Since the shipwreck...the finest encounters you've offered
goddesses of the shoreline kingdoms
Curious, fiery, impatient and very stubborn
Yet, hearts very warm and kind to their conquests
Perhaps this is the end....
Perhaps the Captain will journey still
Nevertheless, you sure have him entertained

The Broken Pieces: Calm waters...dark skies

Calm waters...looming dark grey skies
A slightly violent touch as the wind caresses our faces
A subtle warning...a silent sign
A time to pull back the sails?
Perhaps, a time to fear? Redirect our course?
Or a time to appease the god of the sea - Poseidon?

Unfriendly shots fired
Hitting too close to home
The wounds are shallow but blood is drawn
Only a few left to cater to the wounded
A time to retaliate? Lift arms in protest?
Perhaps we should maintain our smile? Cower in the face of a seemingly superior adversary?
Or maybe seek the assistance of a higher power?

Frozen hearts tickled
Sleeping beasts repeatedly nudged...an attempt to awaken them?
Multiple voices whispering....stirring up buried emotions
The melody of the voices too beautiful to be ignored
A time to arise from slumber? Allow frozen hearts to melt?
Perhaps we should draw closer? Make contact? Question motives?
Or maybe we should ignore? Let sleeping beasts lie and frozen hearts stay frozen?

Two hearts dearly loved
Each upping their ante
The quest to be heard ever so loud
The competition raised....the stakes raised even higher
A time to end this? Make a choice and sail away into the sunset?
Perhaps we should let this linger? Reap all the benefits they present?
Or maybe it is time to walk away and start afresh?

Indeed Poseidon's call sounds loudly in our ears
A storm is coming
And things will be not remain the same
For regardless the path we choose
A war is inevitable
One that will awaken beasts and melt frozen hearts
And in the end...we will have to choose
For not even immortality can delay this any longer!

The Broken Pieces: The Sea Angel IV

Emptiness......a vast open space
So wide, it engulfs everything
So deep, it remains insatiable
Like an unconsolable child
An anger that refuses to dissipate
A plague to last forever?

The last time her voice echoed
His desperation knew no bounds
The gods had finally come calling
Poseidon with his three horned staff
A perfect storm fashioned for destruction
A moment he had always dreaded
His immortality making no difference
Ensuring death takes none of the pain away

This moment he foresaw in the past
His love he thus suffocated to avoid the eventual pain
An act of cowardice?
Judge not....for then he was only human
With immortality his errors he tried to reverse
But the future became the present too quickly
And destiny came calling regardless
His muse gone...
His heart torn...
His nights lonely

Once again, sitting on the bow of his ship
In the eerie darkness of a starless night
On nights like this she'll whisper sweet words to him
Caress his ego...
Calm his fears...
Heighten his passions

All that now is a distant memory
And darkness reigns where there was once fire
Emptiness....all that is left
Since the Sea Angel departed

The Broken Pieces: In Love with two Hearts II

Sitting by the fine sands of Galveston The mud rich gulf waters caressing his toes Utter silence....the crash of waves whispering to him A sudden peace....a sudden calm.... Existing in the middle of a storm
Separated from her for nearly five fortnights Images of her beauty now fading Memories of her immensity and depth growing thin Yet, she stirs in him a thirst so strong and insatiable
Evoking a choking embrace when he sees her Bringing himself in her immensity His thirst has him suckling on every waterhole Drowning himself in her essence His body and mind ignoring the risk of choking Concerning themselves only with the orgasmic finale
Perhaps he should stay forever Perhaps...with her lies all that he seeks But his heart yearns for another Known or unknown....it mattered not He wants more....and yet, he wants her In love with two hearts? The never ending tale of his life

In Search of the Northern Lights: A Return to the Princess

Lost in a dead trance
Echoes of her voice the only thing real in this stance
Her voice....broken....saddened
Her face materializing.....once beautiful
Now streaked with two endless streams
Tears falling endlessly till they get smashed in nothingness

Awakening from this nightmare...

Our confused hearts redirected
A path....a purpose forged
For then only one thing remained dear
A curse reversal
All costs and consequences neglected....
The shores of the hinterland .....a reparation
A bridge once so beautiful....to be returned to its glory!

Paddling the raft towards the Northern Lights

Our gateway to the future....to illumination
The presence of Ogygia a vanishing portrait in the distance
The gods smiling at the choices of men
No gifts or tools in hand....only a sincere heart
A heart on fire.....burning with passion
A clear glare of hope in the ocean of darkness that is despair
A heart that will know no rest till it returns to its princess.....
